Planning your trip to Slovenia is going to be easy as long as you stick to the train system. I highly recommend Ljubljana to be your homebase and travel from there. Železniška postaja Ljubljana is the main railway station in Ljubljana.
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik airport is the biggest airport in Slovenia. Europe has great discount airlines and only a few fly into Ljubljana. Always double check first and if you can't find one, pick another major city like Venice or Zagreb to fly into and then train or drive to Ljubljana
We went with the tour route to see Triglav National Park, as it's huge and we had no vehicle. We also stopped at Lake Bled with this tour, you can also take the bus to Bled
The private tour we used to see Traiglav National Park and Lake Bled was Nature Adventures out of Ljubljana. It was a full day trip to Lake Bled, Triglav National Park, Napolean Bridge, Boka Waterfall, Pagan Girl, Lake Jasna, Russian Chapel, and the beautifuly emerald Soca River. Photos below...
